What is Inspira Health Partners?
Inspira Health Partners (IHP) is a Physician Hospital Organization (PHO). PHOs are groups of doctors, hospitals and other health care providers who come together voluntarily to promote the provision of high-quality, coordinated care for individuals, improved health for populations and lower per capita expenditure growth. IHP is physician-led and supported by Inspira Health.
What is a Clinically Integrated Network?
A clinically integrated network (CIN) is a group of health care providers—such as physicians, hospitals and post-acute care treatment providers—who work together to improve patient care, reduce health care costs and improve the overall health and well-being of the community. CINs support these efforts in a manner that complies with applicable health care regulations. To consistently offer quality care among their participating providers, CINs focus on evidence-based care guidelines such as prevention strategies, acute treatment and ongoing condition maintenance.
Why should I join Inspira Health Partners?
The goal of coordinated care is to ensure that patients, especially those who are chronically ill, get the right care at the right time—while avoiding unnecessary duplication of services and preventing medical errors. When a PHO succeeds both in delivering high-quality care and spending health care dollars more wisely, its members share in the savings it achieves through insurance companies.
Joining IHP will help to prepare your practice for future models of care delivery as payers begin to shift from fee-for-service to value-based care models. Membership in IHP will allow your practice to participate in shared savings programs as well as receive improved rates from participating payers.
What are the goals of Inspira Health Partners?
Inspira Health Partners is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our communities by making positive changes in the way we provide care. A key element of that strategy is the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s Triple Aim: improved patient experience, better health for our population and reduced cost.
IHP was created to support a clinically integrated network that:
- Develops tools to improve quality of care and reduce costs—such as clinical protocols, quality and utilization monitoring tools and population health management programs
- Sponsors patient-centered medical homes, accountable care organizations (ACOs), bundled payment programs, shared savings programs and pay-for-performance efforts in the transition from fee-for-service to value-based payment models
Do I need an electronic health record system in my practice to participate?
Yes, an EHR is required to participate. The ability to share digital medical information is key to the mission of IHP to improve quality while reducing costs.
Do IHP members have to be employed by Inspira Health?
No, members of IHP represent providers who are employed by Inspira Health as well as independent physicians in group and private practices.
